Book Conditions

Please read the following terms used by us to indicate the condition of each book. Since these definitions may not match exactly other grading systems you have seen, we suggest you review them as they are the ones we use to rate our books. Since, as a used book store, we rarely receive a book in Mint condition, we have left this classification out of our condition list. If you have any questions regarding the condition of a particular book, please email us with your question before you purchase it.

Fine (F or FN)

There must be no defects, no missing pages, no library stamp or store stamp, and if the jacket has a small tear, or other defect, or looks worn, this should be noted.

Very Good (VG)

Describes a book that does show some small signs of wear, but no tears - on either binding or paper.

Good (G)

Describes the average used worn book that has all pages or leaves present.

Fair

Worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or plates) but may lack endpapers, half-title, etc. Binding, jacket (if any) may also be worn.

Poor

Descirbes a book that is sufficiently worn that it is only meant as a Reading copy because it does have the complete text, which must be legible. any missing maps or plates should be noted. This copy may be soiled, scuffed, stained or spotted and may have loose joints, hinges, pages, etc.

Shipping Terms

Orders will be processed and shipped within 24 to 48 hours after receipt of order. All items will be shipped US Post Office, book rate. Collectible items valued over $100 will be shipped first class and insured at customer's request.
